David Disiere is the former CEO of the Dallas-based Deep South. He has many different business pursuits and firmly believes there is no substitute for hard work.
David Disiere joined Deep South in 1973. His father, Francis Disiere, founded Deep South in 1967. In the insurance industry, Deep South is what’s known as a MGA — managing general agents. Since its founding, Deep South has been recognized throughout the world as a source of stable and innovative leadership in the insurance industry. One of the nation’s largest providers of commercial auto insurance, Deep South offers an extensive portfolio of products and services to meet the needs of independent insurance agent customers.
David Disiere took over as CEO in 1987, eventually moving Deep-South to its current headquarters in Dallas and growing operations across the country. He charted a course turning Deep South from a small family-owned business into one of the most successful insurance managing general agencies (MGA) in the nation. Starting with three employees, he helped built Deep South up to 400 employees with nine regional offices across the country.
In 2008, QBE Holdings, a longtime partner of Deep South and a subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group – one of the 25 largest insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide – purchased Deep South. David Disiere continued to serve as CEO and oversaw the successful transition.
David Disiere and his wife Teresa have two sons and live Southlake, Texas. They are very involved in community and charitable activities.
